Welcome to Car Crafters! We are a locally owned and operated shop and have been serving Albuquerque for over 32 years. When he was younger, owner and president Jim Guthrie developed a passion for racing which led to his knack for repairing cars. He started repairing cars for friends and family out of his parents home garage. When their cul-de-sac reached it's capacity, Guthrie's parents told him to stop and focus on college or get his own body shop. In January 1982, Guthrie chose the latter and started Car Crafters in a one car garage. Today, Car Crafters has a 70,000 square foot facility right in the heart of Albuquerque. We focus 100% on safety when it comes to repairs and make sure that we return each car to its proper safety and factory standards. Car Crafters has been named one of the Top 10 Body Shops in the nation 3 years in a row by ABRN Magazine (2011, 2012, 2013). We were also named "Best of the City" for Collision Repair Shops, by Albuquerque the Magazine. In addition to being an industry leader in collision repair, we also provide a wide range of mechanical and glass repairs. We are a certified NAPA Auto Care Center and offer a NAPA guarantee with all mechanical work. We provide free estimates at the shop and have a beautiful lobby with complimentary cookies, coffee, and soft drinks to enjoy while your car is being assessed.
